Jordan started his racing career in 2003 racing in Honda Cadet, a class for 8-12 year olds using small karts and 5.5hp engines that will be familiar to anyone who has been to an indoor karting centre. He raced at Llandow in South Wales to start with and as his results improved he started to venture further afield. The highlight of his Cadet racing career was winning the Open Championship, the “O Plate”.

Next Jordan moved up to Minimax, a class for 11-16 year olds using 125cc Rotax engines. He had his ups and downs in 2005, through no fault of his own, but impressed many people with podium positions.

The next step for any ambitious driver is the junior international class, Junior Intercontinental A (JICA) and Jordan moved up in 2006. The class used smaller 100cc engines but higher revs mean more power. Competing in the British and European Championships for the first time against many better-funded drivers, Jordan finished the season as the fourth-best under-16 in the UK and firmly established himself as a star in the making with wins at lengendary kart tracks like Shenington.

In 2007 Jordan prepared for his final season as a junior with wins in the off-season, then scored his first podiums on the international stage at the Winter Cup and the first round of the Open Masters, both in Italy. This year has been a transitional year, with the JICA class used in the UK and a new formula, KF3 (using 125cc engines which are slightly faster), used in the rest of Europe. Jordan adapted well to both classes and even managed to keep up with KF3 drivers while he was on a JICA kart in testing in France. Four wins in an extremely tight British Championship gave him fifth place overall.

Team changes meant Jordan was unable to compete in the European Junior Championship this year but as he raced and beat the same competitors earlier in the year he is confident of his performance in 2008 when he comes up against them in the senior KF2 class.
